Sustainability

Sustainability in the oil and gas industry is a critical issue in Iraq, especially in the At Romu region. The country is one of the largest oil producers in the world, and the oil and gas sector plays a vital role in its economy. However, the industry has been associated with environmental degradation, including pollution of water resources, air pollution, and soil
contamination. In recent years, there has been a growing awareness of the need to adopt
sustainable practices in the oil and gas industry.
To address these challenges, the government of Iraq has developed policies and regulations aimed at promoting sustainable practices in the industry. These policies include measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase energy efficiency, and promote the use of renewable energy sources. The oil and gas companies operating in At Romu have also
adopted sustainability initiatives such as the use of advanced technologies for resource exploration and extraction, waste management, and environmental monitoring..
